A road for bears

WHAT DID IT HAPPENED? On 2019 Christmas Eve night, a female Marsican brown bear was killed on Strada statale 17: a high busy road in Abruzzo. The bear was run over by a car while crossing the road with her cub. The cub came back many times to the crash site looking for his mother.

Safe roads for bears

Making the roads safe is crucial for people and animals in Central Apennines. During the last two years – notes the observatory of Asaps, the Association supporters and friends of the Traffic Police – 360 incidents involved wildlife and were classified as “serious”.
