In September, the work on the first section of the A25 was completed. The safety work will cover 87 km of highway.
In 2021, after the sighting of Amarena and her cubs crossing the highway in Carrito, the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park worked to ensure that a definitive safety procedure was carried out on this stretch of motorway managed by Strada dei Parchi.
This event is located at the end of a series of letters, exposed and denounced to Strada dei Parchi, the Prefecture of L’Aquila, the Ministries and the Abruzzo Region that Salviamo l’Orso and other environmental associations have been carrying on since 2013. We are happy of this progress after years of inconclusive chatter and we thank the PNALM, which added its “political weight” to the association’s requests, allowing to reach the goal. The next step is to identify the other dangerous points of the regional road network. One of these, thanks to the synergy between PNALM, SLO and WWF, is in the pipeline.
