The last week the Tools for Grassroots Activists Conference was held in Una National Park, in Bosnia Herzegovina.
Our sponsor Patagonia organized the event with 130 people from over 20 countries, including a representative from Salviamo l’Orso! At a campsite alongside unspoiled nature, there was an atmosphere of sharing and exchanging of ideas and experiences among over 60 organizations, all sponsored by Patagonia. We focused our attention on useful tools to make our commitment to the environment more effective.
We discussed everything from communication strategies to social media, fundraising and legal issues. We learned about tools created to sustain environmental campaigns (i.e. Patagonia Action Works and Catchafire) and about multiple horizons of action for the NGOs! This intensive program was enhanced by many creative movements, storytelling, and sporting activities to increase participant involvement and to encourage networking.
A special thank goes to the Bosnian community that took care of all the participants with extraordinary hospitality. Thank you to all the Patagonia staff for their great commitment to the organizations they support through this rich and engaging experience!
