The weekend of events that Salviamo l’Orso organized in Capracotta (IS) ended on Sunday, April 29th with the members’ annual meeting and the social hike through the wonderful silver fir forest of Pescopennataro. The Saturday 28th’s conference, “The preservation of the Marsican bear: the need for coexistence and wealth for the territory”, attracted a large audience and offered a valuable opportunity to deepen and debate on the state of the population of the Marsican brown bear. We thank all the participants, in particular the speakers for their availability and the staff of the Garden of the Apennine Flora of Capracotta for hosting us in their natural scenery of rare beauty. The territory of Capracotta, in fact, is a bridge between the mountains of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park and the Majella Park National Park, an essential connection area and possible expansion for the Marsican brown bear.
