We are happy to announce that, for the first time, Save The Bear will open its doors to 2 Universal Civil Service volunteers.
The opportunity is open to all young people between the ages of 18 and 29 years old who have not yet turned 29 and who wish to make their skills and passion available in the service of the conservation of the Marsican brown bear and the territory in which it lives.
Access
Boys and girls who reflect the following requirements may apply:
- Italian, European or non-EU citizenship with legal residence in Italy;
- Age between 18 years and 28 years and 364 days at the time of application;
- no final or non-final criminal conviction of more than one year for a non-culpable offense or related to serious crimes.
Exclusion cases
Those who:
- Are currently engaged in military or police forces;
- Have ongoing employment or collaboration relationships with the project holder or host institution;
- in the previous 12 months, have worked with the same institution for more than three months;
- Have already completed or discontinued a previous Civil Service project, with the exceptions provided in the announcement.
Conditions
Each project lasts 12 months and provides a monthly allowance of 519.47 euros.
How to submit your application and become a Universal Civil Service Volunteer at Save The Bear
After connecting to thededicated platform:
- Read about the available projects (Attachments A1, A2, A3). To apply with us, seeAttachment A2;
- Choose Salviamo L’Orso among the projects proposed by Confcooperative Molise;
- participates in the selection;
- if eligible, you will collaborate on the project and get a final certificate.
Applications must be submitted exclusively online through theDOL platform.
Italian citizens can log in with SPID level 2.
Foreign citizens, if without SPID, can apply for dedicated credentials from the Department.
Activities
If you are among the eligible candidates, you will actively collaborate in the field activities promoted by Save The Bear.
In particular:
- You will collaborate in organizing environmental education events dedicated to the conservation of the Marsican brown bear and its habitat, with a particular focus on the coexistence between wildlife and local communities;
- You will actively work to create and/or enhance activities in the area aimed at raising awareness of businesses and citizens about the importance of coexistence and how to protect and enhance natural resourcefulness;
- You will participate in monitoring and sampling activities by going into the field with our staff;
- You will take direct action to improve the quality of mountain habitats by participating in litter and barbed wire removal activities;
- You will collaborate, in consultation with area partners, on research and conservation projects focused on ecological corridors;
- You will make an active contribution to the development and implementation of educational projects in schools;
- You will assist staff in developing online and offline communication strategies and materials;
- You will organize, together with staff, excursions and outdoor workshops to teach participants about sustainable resource management and biodiversity conservation.
