“Stories of Wolves”: from conflict to alliance. In pettorano sul gizio the presentation of Gianluca Damiani’s book.

23 March 2026 | press releases

On March 31st, 2026, starting at 6 p.m., Cantelmo Castle in Pettorano sul Gizio opens its doors to the wolf in a meeting dedicated to the presentation of the book “Stories of Wolves” by photographer Gianluca Damiani.

Between stories, experiences and reflections on the large predator, Damiani will illustrate his personal and professional experience in documenting the life of the large predator and will try to explain how coexistence stems from a deep understanding of the animal, its ethology and evolutionary history.

An opportunity to explore the role of the wolf in our ecosystems and overcome fears and prejudices. An open dialogue on the importance of coexistence, to build a possible balance between man and nature, but also a time to reflect on the importance of ethical photography and how to document wildlife without invading its space.

The event is promoted by Salviamo L’Orso, which has always been at the forefront of the defense of the Marsican brown bear habitat and all the species with which we are privileged to coexist, under the patronage of the Municipality of Pettorano sul Gizio and in collaboration with the Monte Genzana Alto Gizio Regional Nature Reserve and the Valleluna Cooperative.
