On October 26, volunteers from Rewilding Apennines and Salviamo l’Orso removed 400 meters of barbed wire on Monte Mitra, an ecologically and culturally important area between Sulmona and Pettorano sul Gizio.
This barbed wire, now useless and abandoned, posed a danger to wildlife, restricting animal mobility and increasing the risk of accidents. This action is part of our ongoing efforts to improve habitat for the Marsican bear and other species by reducing physical barriers in the landscape.
